Mia Maturen, MFT

Therapy

Psychotherapy is one of the few spaces where you are free to explore and express yourself in a deeply personal way. It is a place to slow down, reflect, and look with curiosity at the parts of yourself that feel most in need of understanding. Whatever brings you here, I am committed to working with you in a way that honors your complexity, your history, and what matters most to you.

People come to therapy for many reasons, whether to improve relationships, navigate professional challenges, ease anxiety, process grief or loss, better understand themselves and what they want, or make sense of experiences that have stayed with them. Whatever you're carrying, I bring a warm, direct, and collaborative presence to the work.

About

Portrait of Mia Maturen

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have also completed an intensive training in psychoanalytic couple psychotherapy through the Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy Group (PCPG). My orientation is holistic, aiming to honor all aspects of a person — including their inner life, relationship with their body, experiences of identity, significant relationships, and the broader sociocultural and environmental contexts that shape who we are. I approach each treatment as its own unique process and look forward to creating something different with every person I work with.

My background spans a range of mental health settings, including community clinics and public schools. Beyond my private practice, I have served on the board of the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology, taught and supervised at Access Institute, and provided consultation and training to several Bay Area organizations.

If you would like to set up an initial consultation please contact me at (415) 494-8250.
